A driver who smashed into a Bury lamppost after being spotted by police has been arrested.
Officers saw a vehicle being driven dangerously before hitting a lamppost in Parkhills Road on Sunday morning (July 11).
Pictures from the scene show damage to a green Renault Scenic after the crash, near the junction with Walker Street.

Eyewitnesses told the Manchester Evening News they saw the Renault hit a lamppost before two people were arrested by police.
They reported seeing police vehicles and a fire engine in attendance on Sunday morning.
Greater Manchester Police says officers arrested the driver on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop and driving without a licence or vehicle insurance.
A passenger was also arrested, but was later de-arrested, the force says.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 10.38am yesterday (July 11) officers witnessed a vehicle driving dangerously on Parkhills Road, Bury.

"The vehicle then collided with a lamppost.
"The driver was detained at the scene and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop and driving without a licence or vehicle insurance.
"A passenger of the vehicle was also arrested but was then de-arrested shortly after.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
