A dangerous driver crashed into two cars and a wall as he tried to escape from police.

Officers began chasing Aaron Williams, 32, after they spotted him driving a car in Queen's Road, Ashton-under-Lyne on March 18.

Further patrol cars were called in to pursue the vehicle and attempt to bring it to a halt.

As Williams tried to avoid being caught, he 'drove dangerously' through the streets of Ashton-under-Lyne.

But officers eventually caught him and arrested him nearby.

At Minshull Street Crown Court yesterday (Friday, April 16), Williams pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failure to stop after an accident, driving a motor vehicle with no insurance and possession of a controlled drug, class B.

He was jailed for 20 months and given an disqualified from driving for five years and nine months.

Following the hearing, officers from Greater Manchester Police's Tameside division shared a picture of the car Williams was driving as it narrowly avoided flipping on its side.
