A "dangerous" criminal who slashed someone's throat at a party and has almost 100 convictions is at the centre of a police manhunt - just three days after getting out of jail.
Alan Bevington, 32, was jailed in 2013 after a court heard he carried out a sickening attack on a man at a house party the previous year in Birkenhead.
Liverpool Crown Court was told Bevington went upstairs with a girl.
But he heard a group of men making threatening remarks about him and went downstairs, armed with a Stanley knife.
He spotted victim Carl Dillon sitting in the living room and slashed him across the throat – damaging two jugular veins, his Adam’s apple and voicebox and left him needing 11 staples in his neck.
Mr Dillon was rushed to hospital and had to undergo surgery on the 15cm wound, which left him scarred for life.
Judge Brown handed him an extended sentence of 10 years, seven behind bars with the remainder on licence and branded him "a dangerous individual" - having been told Bevington, who lived in New Hey Road, Woodchurch had 96 previous convictions, nine of which were for violence.
Today police confirmed they want to find Bevington and put him back in jai.
He was only released from prison on licence on Tuesday but has allegedly already breached his licence conditions.
A police spokesman told the ECHO: "He is wanted on prison recall after he failed to adhere to the terms of his licence after being released from prison on Tuesday, July 9."
