A danger to life weather warning has been issued for the Falkirk area ahead of Storm Arwen this weekend.
Forecasters say severe gales and snow is expected across the district from tomorrow afternoon, with gusts of up to 75mph possible in a few places.
The Amber 'be prepared' alert comes into force from 3pm tomorrow, Friday November, 26, and lasts until 9am on Saturday November, 27.
Residents are being told to prepare for flying debris, which could lead to injuries or danger to life.
There's also the chance of travel disruption and power cuts.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Storm Arwen will bring high northerly winds southwards across Scotland during Friday afternoon and evening.
"The highest winds will then become confined to northeast England early Saturday.
"Gusts of 65 to 75 mph are expected in coastal areas with gusts in excess of 75 mph in a few places."
