'Danger to life' possible as further flood warnings issued for parts of north Nottinghamshire

Flooding is now expected in more areas of Nottinghamshire, after two more warnings were issued for north of the county.

The Environment Agency has added Girton and Collingham in Newark to its list of areas along the River Trent where "immediate action" is needed.

A yellow weather warning was issued for Nottinghamshire by the Met Office for Thursday, November 14 from 9am to 10pm.

And now a further yellow warning has been added for parts of north Nottinghamshire including Newark, Worksop and Mansfield as weather conditions have worsened.

The Met Office warned: "Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life.

"Further homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.

"Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.

"Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."
