Danger drivers doing 70 on 30mph Great Western Road caught in police crackdown

Three drivers have been reported by police after being caught speeding on Great Western Road.

Police stopped the cars after conducting speed checks on Great Western Road near Drumchapel, where the speed limit is 30mph.

Two of the three drivers have been reported for dangerous driving after recording speeds of over 70mph, police confirmed.

Commenting on the incident on Twitter on Saturday night, Road Policing Scotland said: "Officers from #RPGlasgow where conducting a speed check on Great Western Rd near to Drumchapel this evening.

"Three drivers were reported.

"Two of the drivers were reported for dangerous driving. Speeds in excess of 70mph in the 30mph speed limit."

Drivers have been urged to take extra care on the roads around Glasgow this weekend, with a Met Office yellow weather warning currently in place for ice throughout much of Scotland.
