Dane Murphy urged to use contacts to beat Leeds United and seal Nottingham Forest transfer

Nottingham Forest fans have urged the Reds to make a move for ex-Barnsley striker Daryl Dike after it emerged the forward will be available to leave America in January.

The forward is currently playing for Orlando in the MLS but according to reports will be free to leave the club in the New Year with Leeds United touted as a potential destination

Forest have been strongly tipped to beef up their forward line in the January window as they look to maintain their stunning form under head coach Steve Cooper.

And Reds fans have been discussing the possibility of a move for 21-year-old Dike who excelled at Barnsley during a loan spell last season when he scored nine goals in 19 games.

Forest chief executive Dane Murphy was working at the Tykes at the time and Forest fans have taken to social media to have their say.

Josh: "Please Forest."

Steve Woody Allen: "Go and get him #nffc."

Nacho Camacho: "Surely #nffc have to be in for this? No."

Dunny: "I would take him at #nffc to be honest."

NG15 Red: "That’s a striker sorted then."

Alfie Fox: "Daryl Dike in January, make it happen Dane."

Gaurav Gupta: "Has Dane's name written all over it."

Alex: "Where’s my mate Dane."
