Dane Massey appointed Drogheda skipper after signing on for another Premier Division campaign

Dane Massey has been named as Drogheda's new captain after signing a new contract with the club.

Massey, 33, won five League titles and three FAI Cups with Dundalk before joining their county Louth rivals before the start of last season.

New Boynesiders boss Kevin Doherty has already re-signed a number of key players, including Gary Deegan and Chris Lyons.

And Doherty clearly sees Massey - an ever-present last season with 33 appearances - as another as the club looks to consolidate it's Premier Division status.
