The Christmas Event returns to Dandy's World, bringing with it lots of Holiday-themed rewards and event-exclusive Toons that you can unlock, so make sure you follow our guide for everything you need to know in order to get the most out of it!
How to Farm Ornaments in Dandy's World
Ornaments are the event currency for the Dandy's World Christmas Event that you need to collect if you want to unlock the event-exclusive Toons and Holiday-themed skins. The event lasts until January 16, so you have plenty of time to farm, which you will need if you want to get everything from this event. The main ways of obtaining Ornaments are:
- Completing a Machine - This gives you five Ornaments every time you complete one. You don't need to do it from start to finish; it only matters that you're the one who does the last bit.
- Encounter a Twisted - You get one Ornament when you encounter a Twisted for the first time on each floor, with at least two different Twisted spawning every time.
- Collecting Ornaments on the floor - Each floor spawns at least one Ornament item, which gives you five of the Ornament currencies every time you pick it up. These don't go away when someone picks them up, so every player has a chance to find them.
- The Advent Calendar - There are daily login rewards that last until December 25, giving you 50 Ornaments each day, with a bigger reward of 300 Ornaments on Christmas.
As soon as the elevator door opens, make it your priority to find a Machine, because everyone will be gunning for one since it's an easy source of Ornaments. Do keep an eye out for the Ornament items on the floor and make sure to look for them before finishing the floor. Only trigger the Twisteds for their Ornaments when you're near the end of the level and are safe.
Toons like Pebble are very good here, since they highlight items around you, including the event Ornaments. The event-exclusive Toon Coal also helps you in the same way. Some trinkets, like the Wrench and Vee's Remote, can help you complete the Machines faster, giving you more time to find another one on the same floor.
How to Unlock the Event Toons

There are four event Toons that you can only unlock during this event by visiting Bobette's Shop and spending your Ornaments, provided you also manage to complete their unlock requirements. These new Toons should be your biggest priority during the event, since they bring new abilities that can change up the way you play the game.
| Toon | Unlock Requirement | Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Rudie 300 Ornaments |
None | His Antler Charge is a simple but effective ability that gives him a fast dash forward, which is very effective as an escape tool, letting you get creative when trying to block the Twisteds line of sight. |
![]() Ginger 700 Ornaments |
Have 50% Research on Twisted Ginger | She can heal another Toon to full HP by spending 100 tapes gathered during a run. For each additional Ginger on your team, the cost and cooldown of the ability will increase. |
![]() Coal 1.5k Ornaments |
Own 15 or more Trinkets | It can sniff out all the items on the floor by activating its ability Scout, which highlights all items on the ground for every player in your team. Coal works great when tracking down Ornament items. |
![]() Bobette 3k Ornaments 2.5k Ichor |
Have 100% Research on Twisted Bobette | Bobette passively gives Toons around her 50% faster stamina regeneration and a 25% movement speed boost. As for her active ability, she can hide herself in a gift box, becoming unable to move, but gaining invincibility for eight seconds. |
There are also Holiday-themed skins that you can purchase in the event shop, each for 600 Ornaments, but I suggest you make this a secondary priority, after unlocking all of the characters.
Event Twisteds & How to Research Them
There are four event-exclusive Twisteds added to the game, one for each of the new Toons. They are only here during the event, after which they'll be taken out of the game, so you have limited time to research them fully and unlock the trinkets they grant.
| Twisted | Trinket | Mechanics |
|---|---|---|
![]() Twisted Rudie |
Festive Lights - Highlights Ornaments in your area. | Gives off a very visible glow that can even be seen through walls, making it easier to spot him. |
![]() Twisted Ginger |
Pepermint Icing - Grants 30 stamina after using an active ability. | She's a bit slower than the average Twisted, but her attention span is the highest, so it will take you a while to get rid of her. |
![]() Twisted Coal |
Coal - Gives a 10% reduction to your stealth and speed. | Higher speed and detection range, but lower attention span during blackouts. |
| Twisted Bobette | Toy Kit - Gives your Toon a 25% increased radius to their aura ability. | She can hear items being picked up around her, including the event Ornaments, so be very careful and check if she's close by before doing so. |
The event Twisteds have a chance to appear on every floor, with one of them guaranteed to appear every five floors when the Christmas-themed floors spawn. Whenever you encounter one, you get 5% progressions to your research, and if you pick up their research capsule, you get 1% bonus progressions, with two capsules spawning on each floor.
Roger is a very useful Toon during the event because he doubles the research progress, making it much faster to complete each one.
How to Unlock the Golden Skins

The Christmas Event also brings with it special quests for each of the four event Toons, which, when completed, reward you with special golden-accented skins for them. Each Toon gets their own three-part quest that you have to complete when playing as the character in question.
-
Rudie Holiday Quest #1
- Encounter Twisted Rudie 10 times when playing as Rudie.
- Complete the new Holiday Floor 15 times when playing as Rudie.
- Use Rudie's ability 30 times while being chased by a Twisted.
-
Ginger Holiday Quest #2
- Encounter Twisted Ginger 10 times when playing as Ginger.
- Complete Floor 20 while playing as Ginger.
- Use Ginger's ability to heal any non-main Toon on one heart 20 times.
The third and fourth quests for Coal and Bobette will become available on December 19, when the second part of the event arrives, so check back here for the update.
Dandy's World Christmas Event FAQ
Unfortunately, they all get removed; you don't get any compensation for the unspent ones, nor do they carry over to next year's Christmas event.
Bobette has the best team utility and a strong ability for her own survival, though she's the most expensive and has the hardest unlock requirement. On the other spectrum, Rudie has a great, simple ability to get away from Twisteds, and is also the cheapest to unlock.
No, as soon as you collect them, they're yours to keep, no matter if you make it back to the elevator or not.
We hope our Dandy's World Christmas Event guide helps you enjoy the event to the fullest and unlock everything that you wanted while it lasts!
