Dancing With The Stars winner Mairead Ronan sets sights on new radio show this summer

DANCING With The Stars winner Mairead Ronan said she has her sights set on bagging a new radio show this summer.

The mum of three added while the RTE show was intense, she feels lucky to be in an industry where she doesn’t have to work every day.

The 39-year-old said: “I’ve had a chat about radio and so I am just trying to see if that would work around the summer.

Former Dancing With The Stars Host Amanda Byram admits she didn't watch the third series

“And it would be great if it could but that is definitely not confirmed.

“But Dancing With The Stars is extreme and I don’t think anyone would want that as a full-time job.

“But I love working. I absolutely adore my kids but I love working, you get a kick out of working whatever it is. Whether it is radio or telly.

“But because of the job I’m in I don’t have to be gone all day every day.

“You can do bursts of work very easily and that’s what I hope to do now with DWTS over.”

Mairead Ronan says she was 'written off' as new mother on DWTS

Meanwhile, commenting on rumours the hit show may not be recommissioned for a fourth season, the reigning champion said: “I can’t imagine that happening.

“People were tuning in in their droves. Everyone from five-year- olds to 95-year-olds were watching it and it is one of those few shows on the telly where all the family can sit and watch it together.”
