Dancing With The Stars viewers react to 'strange' RTE show as Lottie Ryan takes the crown

Dancing With The Stars viewers last night labelled the no audience as "surreal".

The live final of the show was pushed forward due to the coronavirus outbreak and was aired live on RTE One in front of no audience.

Lottie Ryan was crowned a worthy winner of the competition but it was the "strange" set-up that most people were talking about on social media.

Viewers praised everyone involved for being able to stage the show in such circumstances but couldn't get over just how odd it all seemed.

Claire Conway said on Twitter: "Totes emosh watching #DWTSIRL and realising it’s zoomed forward to the final and there’s no audience!

"Everyone is doing a wonderful job though. Myself and the 4 year old have cast our vote."

Stephanie O'Mahony added: "Surreal watching Dancing With The Stars with no audience. I'm backing Ryan to win."

While Siobhan Bermingham added: "OMG very weird atmosphere with no studio audience for the final."

TodayFM presenter Mairead Ronan praised everyone involved in the "strange" show - she said: "Congratulations to Lottie Ryan, new DWTSIRL champ .. strange night for all of you there but you put on a brilliant show."

Lottie Ryan became the fourth Irish celebrity to lift the glitterball trophy following Sunday night's final.
