Dancing With The Stars judge Brian Redmond talks about dream move to UK's Strictly Come Dancing panel

Dancing With The Stars judge Brian Redmond admitted he’d love to bag a spot on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing panel.

As the future of RTE’s hit show is in limbo, talks are taking place within the BBC this week to replace Darcey Bussell.

When asked whether he would consider moving across the Irish Sea
for the position, Brian told the Irish Mirror: “You never know. I haven’t
been invited over [for a screen test].

Dancing With The Stars winner Mairead Ronan sets sights on new radio show this summer

“We did a screen test for Len but there is a big difference replacing a 70-year-old ballroom guy compared to a prima ballerina but we will wait and see.”

The 42-year-old Dubliner, who has been an integral part of the DWTS panel for the past three years, added he would be mad not to consider the role.

He said: “Oh yea, of course. It’d be interesting.

Johnny Ward confirms split with ex as he steps out with former dance partner Emily Barker

“Now, it would be something I would have to consider seriously with commitments with family and work. It would be a different level of commitment entirely compared to Dancing With The Stars.

“It would be an opportunity that you would be mad not to consider.”

However, speaking last week at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards, Brian said he sees no reason why the hit dance contest won’t return to RTE next year.

He added: “It is usually around June or July when everything gets wrapped up for the RTE Autumn programme but I cannot see any legitimate reason as to why it wouldn’t be back.”

In the meantime, the multi-award-winning dance professional has his
eyes set on a different programme, admitting he’d love to have a go at the new RTE Special Forces show.

Brian said: “Would I do reality TV? I think it depends on the context.

“I’ve been watching the SAS programme they are running recently and I actually said it to Jen [his wife] recently I would love to do that. She looked at me and laughed.

“It would have to be something fun to do.”
