Dancing Wallsend firefighters remind people to stay at home in brilliant TikTok video

These dancing firefighters have earned a thumbs-up from thousands of people after finding a fun way of reminding the public to stay at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

The Wallsend Red Watch crew, from the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, made a TikTok video, which you can watch above, and shared it on their social media channels.

It features their watch manager Peter Hamil and other firefighters from the station, who perform a small dance before showing the words "Stay at home" to protect the NHS and save lives.

The video has since gone viral, with scores of people leaving comments on social media, many also praising the firefighters themselves for the work they are doing during the Covid-19 crisis.

One said on Facebook: "Absolutely brilliant. Well done to you all. Thank you for the amazing job you do for us all...stay safe."

Another wrote: "Well done our Wallsend fire heroes. Thank you for everything you and your colleagues do for us every day."

One person added: "Brilliant. Where would we all be without these fantastic people."

The fire service video has been liked by more than 6,200 people on Facebook alone.

A number of supporters posted rainbow emojis and thanked the team for putting a smile on their faces.
