Dancing on Ice winner Joe Swash victim of savage dig from Phillip Schofield moments after shock win

Phillip Schofield made a cutting remark to Dancing on Ice winner Joe Swash moments after his victory was announced.

In what Phillip himself dubbed an "incredibly close" final, Joe and fellow finalists Perri Kiely and Libby Clegg were level after their two performances after the judges gave them all the same scores, with the three of them getting a full house of 80 out of a possible 80.

Libby bowed out in third place after the public vote was temporarily frozen before Joe and Perri both went on to give their interpretation of Torvill and Dean's famous Bolero.

And in the end it was ex Eastenders actor Joe who triumphed, as Phillip announced he and pro partner Alex Murphy had won. Joe looked stunned at the outcome and the Dancing on Ice result has also sparked anger from many viewers, many who assumed clear favourite Perri would win and wanted him to.

Phillip also seemed like he predicted a Perri win, with him telling the Diversity dancer "everyone thought you had it in the bag." Gracious in defeat, Perri said Joe deserved to win.

But then, just before the credits rolled, the famous presenter turned to Joe and said "without question Joe most improved, most improved," as you can see in the above video from ITV.

Phillip's comment didn't go unnoticed by Dancing on Ice viewers. One tweeted him to say: "Your most improved comment was so rude!" and another posted: "I've never seen the host or judges looked so shocked. @Schofe didn't even congratulate them he just said "the most improved" lmao like that actually means anything. The judges look ready to mount a coupe for a second."
