Dancing On Ice viewers complain over 'grating' addition as 'a bit much' during first show

Dancing On Ice fans were thrilled to finally have the show back on screen to cure the Sunday blues.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back last night to present the ITV skating show with 12 new celebrities set to take to the ice.

And while viewers were happy to have the entertainment programme back on screens, there was one 'grating' addition that they weren't so happy with.

Due to following Covid-secure guidelines, various changes have been made to make sure the show can go ahead safely - including no studio audience.

Instead, the competing couples get to sit rink side to react to all the action.

But it was the 'fake' addition to the show that was really rubbing viewers up the wrong way.

"Here's an idea #DancingOnIce next week maybe turn down the volume of the canned audience eh? Bit much," tweeted one.

Another fumed: "We know there are about 7 people in the audience, so the canned whooping and hollering is even more annoying this year #DancingOnIce."

"The audience’s cheering is so grating #DancingOnIce," added a third.

A fourth pleaded: "Please for the love of god tone down the canned applause it’s absolutely shocking! We know there’s no audience and it’s ok!"

"Don't need any of this fake 'cheering, whooping, laughing and clapping' audience soundtrack junk on #DancingOnIce , it's horrendous," another complained.
