Dancing On Ice stars don their skates as Jane Torvill warns festive slacking won't be tolerated

REALITY TV staple fashion designer Caprice Bourrett, 48, TV presenter Michael Barrymore, Love Island’s Maura Higgins and Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins got their skates on at the white carpet press launch of Dancing On Ice.

Ahead of the show’s return in early Jan, judge Jane Torvill, 62, warned slacking off over the festive season is not allowed saying: “They should be rehearsing on Christmas Day.”

Swapping a sun lounger for balancing on blades reality star Maura, 29, admitted: “This has been a lot harder than Love Island but I’ll take whatever the judges tell me ‘cos they know best.”

Former Strike It Lucky host Michael, 67, added: “They train you like a horse,” and Caprice said: “My family think I’m crazy.”

Tragedy hitmaker H, 43, who will be part of the show’s first same-sex couple, said of ITV’s decision to pair him with pro skater Matt Evers: “There has been an outpouring of love and support.”

The only challenge has been anatomical differences according to Matt, 43, who said: “One of the lifts we have found may not be possible with two men.”

Phillip Schofield, 57, who co-hosts alongside Holly Willoughby, 38, quipped: “Let’s be honest, his b****** got in the way.”
