Dancing On Ice stars 'clash' behind the scenes amid 'favouritism' row

Tempers are fraying behind the scenes amid claims some Dancing On Ice celebrities are receiving "preferential treatment" by being given 'easier' routines, it has been reported.

Tonight, each of the stars will be performing routines based on various dances - but how the dances have been allocated has caused a stir amongst some of its cast.

Some of this year's stars have reportedly accused Faye Brookes, Colin Jackson and Jason Donovan of receiving "preferential treatment", due to their prior experience in the style of dance they have been given.

Former Olympian Colin, 53, will be skating a samba to Bamboleo by Gipsy Kings with partner Klabera Komini - however, he has previously performed that dance style on rival BBC show Strictly.

Meanwhile, Faye, 33, has been allocated ballet and will be performing to Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, even though she has had formal ballet lessons.

Jason, 52, and partner Alexandra Schauman will be skating a tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by Eurythmics.

Similarly to Colin, he performed the dance on Strictly, where he received a perfect 40 score.

An insider told The Sun : "The trio seem to have a huge advantage going into this week.

“It’s not gone unnoticed by some of the celebrities and their partners and people have been discussing whether they’ve been given favourable treatment.

ITV declined to comment when approached by the Mirror.

It's been a tricky time for producers on the ITV skating show after its fourth star, Billie Faiers, was forced to pull out last night following an injury.

As both reserves have already been used to replace Rufus Hound and Denise Van Outen, Billie will not be replaced.
