Dancing on Ice star Siva Kaneswaran 'gutted' as he's forced to pull out of Sunday's show

Siva Kaneswaran has said he's "gutted" to be missing out on Dancing on Ice this weekend after he was forced to pull out due to illness.

The Wanted star told fans that he will not be performing in Sunday's episode of the ITV show after coming down with a chest infection. But Dancing on Ice has confirmed that Siva will hopefully be back on the ice in no time, writing on their Twitter page: "Due to illness Siva will not skate in this weekend's show - we look forward to welcoming him back next weekend."

Siva said: "I'm gutted that I won't be performing this weekend, but I picked up a bug earlier in the week which I haven’t been able to shake so I need to rest and get myself better. Good luck to all the contestants - I'm looking forward to watching everyone's performances!"

Last week saw Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu go home after landing in the skate-off for the second time and coming bottom of the leaderboard. Siva and his pro partner Klabera Komini earned fifth place for their Dance Week waltz, bagging a score of 30 from the judges.

Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson topped last week's leader board with 34, followed by Hollyoaks' Carley Stenson and RuPaul's Drag Race UK star The Vivienne in joint-second with 32.5 apiece. With Siva set to miss out on this week's show, fans were quick to send the star messages of support.

"Get well soon and rest up for next week Siva," one person wrote on Twitter. "You are doing brilliantly and will be missed tomorrow night."

Another said: "So sorry to hear you're feeling poorly Siva. Sending lots of love and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Looking forward to watching you skate next week!"
