Dancing On Ice star Faye Brookes explains why she's in no rush to have children

Faye Brookes says she and Joe Davies are in no rush to have kids – but is already imagining what their wedding could look like.

The Dancing On Ice favourite has moved on after her sudden split from singer Gareth Gates.

They were due to get married but in August 2019 called off the wedding after seven years together.

The former Coronation Street actress – who is now partnered with skating pro Matt Evers after her first partner Hamish Gaman pulled out due to an injury – returns to the rink tonight.

She has opened up about finding love again with Faye and personal trainer Joe unable keep their hands off each other.

The former soap star says her boyfriend knows what it would mean to her to win the ITV show but Faye admits she’s not convinced she could.

They first went public on a date night in Manchester back in December 2019, just a few weeks after Faye denied they were a couple.

But now they can't stop talking about their love and she told the Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine lockdown stress proved they are perfect for each other.

"That definitely solidified us as a pair," she said. "There were days where I would fall apart and not know what was going to happen next and you question everything.

"I didn’t know how to deal with that and there’s no one else around but the person you are spending that time with.

"I would love to get married and I know Joe would too, but right now we love our lives and there is no pressure. There is enough pressure on the world to get through this pandemic."

On babies, she adds: "We’ve got our fur babies and we’re very career-driven.

"There’s always the talk when you’re in a loving relationship and those little conversations, but we haven’t made any plans.

"I have no idea when that will happen. I don’t want to plan it."

Faye recalled when she knew it was getting serious with hunky Joe.

She said: "Our friends started to say 'Something’s happening, because no one has ever looked at you the way Joe’s looking at you'.

"I was like, “What?” He was the best friend I wasn’t looking for and became the missing part of the puzzle. He just made my life so much easier."
