Dancing On Ice star awkward as Dermot O'Leary makes Wagatha Christie joke

Dancing On Ice star Robin Johnstone appeared on This Morning on Friday where she looked awkward as Dermot O'Leary made a joke about the Wagatha Christie drama.

Rebekah Vardy is starring on the show and is partnered with Robin's husband, Andy Buchanan.

Andy and Rebekah recently suffered a gruesome accident during training where Rebekah sliced open Andy's face with the blade of her ice skate.

In 2019, Coleen Rooney wrote a lengthy Instagram post accusing former friend Rebekah of leaking stories to the press about her, which Rebekah strongly denied.

Coleen's accusations were dubbed 'Wagatha Christie' for her detective work where she allegedly restricted her Instagram posts to fewer and fewer followers to see if they still got leaked.

And Dermot brought up the drama during his interview with Robin, asking about how Andy broke the news to her that Rebekah had injured him.

Dermot made a cheeky reference to the Wagatha Christie drama of 2019 (ITV)

"Did he say, 'It's...Rebekah Vardy?'" he laughed, in reference to Coleen's infamous wording of the Instagram post.

Robin simply chuckled awkwardly but refused to join in on the joke.

She replied: "No actually, oh my god no, he is up north training so I actually just saw him over zoom, because we are social distancing, we are in our bubbles, but he is okay, it's just what happens."

Rebekah told The Mirror and other media that when it happened, Andy covered his face with his hand but she thought he was joking.

"I've had so many falls, and obviously I injured Andy and that was the most horrific experience," she said.

"I actually thought he was messing around to begin with, because he does like to rib me a bit.

"We were doing a move, and the last thing he said to me was, 'Don't kick me in the face'.

"I thought, 'Why would you say that? You're going to jinx us!'

"So we did what were doing and he nearly dropped me, and I thought, 'Oh sh*t.'

Rebekah nearly fainted when she saw how much blood there was (ITV)

"I looked at him and he was holding his face, and I said, 'Stop messing about', and I laughed.

"Then he removed his hand from his face, there was blood everywhere, five kids and I can't deal with blood, I nearly passed out.

"I felt horrific, and all he was worried about was the show and tell the next day. I was like, 'Why are you worried about skating, I am worried about your face!'"

* This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
