Dancing on Ice skate-off result sees Trisha Goddard become first star to leave new series

It's been a series already full of controversy, from horror injuries to fix claims and even a favouritism row and now the first couple have been given the boot from Dancing on Ice.

After a week that saw pro skater Vanessa Baeur injured after she smashed straight into a wall around the rink, Dancing on Ice's second live show took place on Sunday and ended with legendary TV chat show host Trisha Goddard being voted out of the competition alongside professional partner Łukasz Różycki.

Trisha, famous for her ITV morning talk show, and Lukasz finished bottom of the leaderboard after their week one skate and first public vote and they were joined in the dreaded Skate Off by ITV news reader Lucrezia Millarini and her partner, show newcomer Brendyn Hatfield.

Trisha dedicated her heartfelt skate to Heather Small's Proud to other breast cancer survivors, after her battle against the disease, while Lucrezia was noticeably improved in contrast to her first skate earlier on in the shiow.

And all four Dancing on Ice judges thought she had the edge, all choosing to save her over Trisha and send her through to next weekend's Musicals Week.
