Dancing On Ice's Vanessa Bauer smashes face into wall in horrific training accident

A Dancing on Ice star has suffered a horrific fall in rehearsals when they smashed face-first into a wall.

The ITV show has been no stranger to freak injuries since it started in 2006 - who can forget David Seaman dropping his professional partner on her head or Jennifer Ellison slashing her head open with her ice skate during a routine? Rather them than us!

This year's have already been hit by injury too, with Michael Barrymore having to pull out completely after breaking his wrist , magician Ben Hanlin suffering an injury in training ahead of last weekend's first live show and famous chat show host Trisha Goddard falling over live on air.

And now skating pro Vanessa Bauer has been victim of a horrifying injury in rehearsal when she smashed her face into a wall at some force.

Vanessa, who reached the final last year with Love Island star Wes Nelson, is paired with Diversity dancer Perri Kiely this year, with the couple topping the leaderboard in week 1, sparking fix claims from viewers.

Vanessa posted a video of the dramatic accident on her Instagram page, telling followers she "literally thought she had broken her face".

In the video, the 23-year-old can be seen skating along gracefully before disaster strikes when she smashes straight into a wall around the rink.

Vanessa & Perri aren't in action on Sunday night's show, when the likes of ex-Sunderland player Kevin Kilbane and Love Island 2019 finalist Maura Higgins make their skating debuts.
