Dancing On Ice's Vanessa Bauer slams head-first into rink during intense training

Dancing On Ice star Vanessa Bauer feared she'd "broken" her face after slamming into the rink wall during intense training.

The professional figure skater, 23, was practising for the hit ITV live shows when she went head-first into the rink wall.

A painful Instagram video showed the star gracefully skating across the ice and performing a range of tricks before losing her balance and launching head-first into the wall.

The wounded professional captioned her post: "THAT just happened. I literally thought I broke my face. It started off so well lol... good thing I know how to stop, not.

"At least  @theicecapture  caught it so you're welcome guys."

The Irish beauty and former grid girl has confessed that she is eagerly looking forward to her new bod thanks to the gruelling training.

Discussing whether she has her own personal fitness goals,  Maura  revealed to the Press Association: "No, because I'm not a fitness girl. But I'm excited about getting fit, because I've never been fit.

"I could do with a skater's bum."

She also discussed her stint on This Morning and how it's a whole different ball game.

She explained: "I was quite nervous the first time I did live TV, when I appeared on This Morning offering agony aunt advice, but this will be the scariest thing I've done.

"I'm very competitive and I definitely want to win. Or just get very far, I do want to do well.

"I'd be raging if I spent so much time training and then get voted off in the first couple of weeks. I won't like that."
