Dancing on Ice's Ria Hebden faces first skate off despite higher score than Sally Dynevor

Dancing on Ice's Ria Hebden looked gutted on Sunday evening as she became the first celebrity to face next week's skate off.

At the end of the first show of 2022, hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealed who would be at risk of being eliminated from the competition in week two.

Ria, 39, and her professional partner Łukasz Różycki put on a brave face as they realised their place in the show wasn't safe at all.

The pair had received a decent score of 24.5 after taking to the ice for the first time - but it seems it wasn't enough.

When asked by Phillip how she felt, Ria replied: "I'm really gutted because we absolutely worked so hard on this skate and I enjoyed every second skating with Łukasz."

Łukasz was already excited about the next show and said: "Oh we have a fabulous routine so I'm looking forward actually."

Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor, who received a lower score of 23, sailed through to the next week and no doubt has plenty of soap fans behind her.

Meanwhile, Happy Mondays star Bez only received a 12.5 from the judges - but certainly provided a few laughs for viewers tuning in at home.

Many fans took to social media to declare that they had used all five of their votes to push Bez through to the next round.

Elsewhere on the first show, Brendan Cole and his skating partner Vanessa Bauer topped the leaderboard with a score of 30.5 after opening the episode.

Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt and Mark Hanretty also matched that when they bagged a score of 30, and Kye Whyte and Tippy Packard managed to get a total of 24.

Week two of the show will see the remaining six couples skate for the first time, and this includes Ben Foden and Robin Johnstone, and Liberty Poole and Joe Johnson.

One of them will go head-to-head with Ria in the first skate off of the 2022 series.

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
