Dancing on Ice's Regan Gascoigne and dad Gazza eye up father and son reality show

Paul Gascoigne and Regan Gascoigne have revealed an interest in starring in their own father-and-son TV show.

Former footballer Gazza, 54, made an appearance on Dancing on Ice recently, as his son Regan, 25, is among the line-up on the ITV skating competition this year.

It's the professional dancer's first major TV project, but Regan is hoping it won't be his last as he and his famous family members are hoping to bag a series of their own.

This could see them follow in the footsteps of presenter Bradley Walsh, 61, and his son Barney Walsh, 24 - who take part in challenges in their series Breaking Dad.

Similarly, comedian Jack Whitehall, 33, and his producer father Michael Whitehall, 81, appear together on Travels with My Father - which sees them travel the world.

Gazza and Regan could be the next father and son duo to have their own show, speaking about this potential in a recent interview with the Sun.

Regan, who is said to suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder like his dad, suggested that he would be up a Breaking Dad style show.

He said: "I would love to do something together, to put in those sorts of challenges. That would be hilarious." He said that whilst the pair may "kill each other with OCDness," they'd be good TV.

His dad commented: "I'm up for most things but I hate snakes and I hate f***ing flying. Anything else I can deal with."

Regan is the son of Gazza and his ex-wife Sheryl Gascoigne, 56, who were married between 1996 - 1998.

The relationship saw the midfielder become the adopted dad of Sheryl's daughter Bianca Gascoigne, now 35, and son Mason Gascoigne, 31, - from her previous marriage.

The family are said to have been offered their own reality TV show years ago, though it never got off the ground. Gazza revealed: "They did the Osbournes and wanted to do the Gascoignes, but no, it didn't happen."

They are no strangers to reality TV though with Bianca having appeared on the second series of the original Love Island in 2006, winning the show with Calum Best, now 40.

Sheryl was later a campmate on I'm a Celebrity (IAC) in 2010 but was the first person voted out. And more recently, Gazza appeared on Italian reality show L'Isola dei Famosi - which has a similar concept to IAC.

Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday (January 30) on ITV from 6pm. You can catch-up now through the ITV Hub.
