Dancing on Ice's Rebekah Vardy vows to 'have Lady Leshurr's back' as fans complain about result

Rebekah Vardy has promised to 'have Lady Leshurr's back' as some Dancing on Ice fans argued she should have been kept in ahead of the rapper on Sunday night.

Former I'm A Celebrity contestant Rebkah, wife of Leicester City and England striker Jamie, found herself in the dreaded skate off for a second time at the weekend, after ending up second bottom on the leaderboard for her Breakfast at Tiffany's themed skate alongside pro partner Andy Buchanan.

Following the public vote, Rebekah landed in the bottom two alongside Lady Leshurr and her partner Brendyn, with them finishing in last place with the judges on a score of 33.5 for their Jurassic Park inspired routine.

But, after Rebekah made some costly slip ups in her 'save me skate', the judges decided to keep Lady Leshurr in Dancing on Ice, with Jayne Tovill using her casting vote for the 3-1 majority.

Some viewers argued that, having been in the skate off three times, Lady Leshurr should have gone, especially given she finished below Rebekah on Sunday.

One tweeted: "Gutted for u. Lady leisha should have gone IMO. Rebekah out skated her," and, in agreement, another posted: "This was totally the wrong decision. Rebekah was by far the better skater!"

A third reacted: "Rebekah was robbed don’t see the point watching now," but, not showing any signs of bitterness, Rebekah took to Instagram on Monday morning to thank everyone on Dancing on Ice and show support for her rival.

She posted: "...to steal a line from an amazing movie, “I’ve had the time of my life.”

"I’ve made some new friends for life & been welcomed in by people that I can’t even believe I’ve been lucky enough to perform alongside. You all know who you are

"To my girl @imladyleshurr I’m so happy that you’re still standing. I’m Still Standing will ALWAYS be our song, I just hope we can dance together to it at a party one day.

"You are a STAR & I’m so happy that all of the viewers are seeing that. I will always have your back."

Rebekah ended the post: "To my family & closest friends, I love you all & as much as I’ve loved training & fallen in love with the ice, I’m also looking forward to having time at home with my family again."
