Dancing on Ice's Phillip Schofield corrected after getting pro skaters' names mixed up

Host Phillip Schofield made a blunder in last night's Dancing on Ice final as he got the name of one of the pro-skaters mixed up.

Former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and radio DJ Sonny Jay were the final two in the ITV skating show.

They were tasked with performing the iconic Bolero, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill's Winter Olympics winning skate.

Following Sonny's performance, Phillip asked how they felt performing the final dance of the series.

Sonny, who went on to lift the Dancing On Ice trophy, insisted that 'guys like him' didn't get to skate in front of people like legends Torvill and Dean.

Phil, from Oldham, then asked Sonny's professional skating partner Angela Egan how she felt.

He asked: "How was that for you Klabera?"

Realising his mistake Sonny said: "It's Angela."

Phil had accidentally said the name of fellow finalist Colin Jackson's partner Klabera Komini.

He then apologised before the pair laughed off the mistake.

Fans took to Twitter to comment on the slip-up.

One sympathetic viewer said: "Phil is all of us accidentally calling someone else by the wrong name."

"Poor Angela," commented another.

"That AWKWARD moment when you get the Pro’s name wrong," said another.

"Not Klabera it’s Angela," another pointed out.

Another fan of the show tweeted: "When @Schofe gets the pro’s name wrong @dancingonice."

This year's final was brought forward after injury and illness forced a number of contestants to withdraw.

And it was an eventful final.

Dancing On Ice's final saw the class of 2021 reunited on the rink and there was drama as comic Matt Richardson tumbled during a move with his partner Vicky Ogden.

Both of them fell on the ice before assuming their finishing positions, with comedian Matt pulling a comical face.

Phil and co-host Holly Willoughby couldn't hold back their giggles as all the returning skaters from the 13th series finished their brief performances.

"Matt, you had one job!" joked Phil.

And Holly told him to 'put some ice on it.'

Viewers flocked to social media to say it was the 'best' moment of the series, which has been hit by illness and injury.
