Dancing On Ice's Perri Kiely 'in bits' after suffering nasty injury ahead of debut

Perri Kiely is "in bits" after suffering a difficult injury ahead of his debut on Dancing On Ice in January.

The Diversity star, 23, is preparing to take to the ice in the new year but is feeling the pressure as a dancer to be good.

Dancing On Ice judge Ashely Banjo said that Perri was also worried about his injury, which has seen his foot "strapped up"

Talking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning today, he said: "He nearly broke his toe."

Stunned, Holly replied: "Oh don't you break, Perri, we need him!"

"So he's been strapped up, he's been going to training, coming back on the train, doing the training, coming back," Ashley explained. "Literally, the kid is in bits but he's saying to me 'Ash, I need to be as good as I can be'.

"He feels all of this pressure where people are going 'Oh you're going to be great, it's going to be easy for you' and it's not."

Holly asked: "Is it going to be weird for you judging him?"

"No, I think it will be easier for me judging him," Ashley replied. "I judge him every day. I can't help looking and say 'Pel, do that better'.

"I do it all the time. So it will be harder for me, I think, to judge other people."

Ashley also spoke about the different dynamic on the judging panel, now that John Barrowman had replaced Jason Gardiner.

He said: "We had our first filming day a while back and I was thinking, 'Oh my gosh, it's changed! How's it going to be?

"I mean, I could spend days with him. He's brilliant, he's got so much energy."

Ashley added: "The dynamic is different, in a brilliant way. We had so much fun on the day."
