Dancing on Ice's Oti Mabuse lands another ITV job ahead of series finale

Oti Mabuse has clearly impressed ITV bosses on Dancing on Ice as she has landed another show with the channel since quitting Strictly Come Dancing.

Oti, who won Strictly in two consecutive years, announced she was departing the BBC ballroom show earlier this year after seven years, having already been on the Dancing on Ice panel for a month before breaking the news. She first earned a role on an ITV programme last summer, when she was on the panel for The Masked Dancer.

Dancing on Ice fans have absolutely loved having Oti in the judging line-up for the current series and they'll be seeing more of her, long after the credits have rolled on the final as, on Saturday, it was confirmed she will host a a brand new dating show.

During Starstruck's latest episode, a trailer appeared on screen for Romeo & Duet, which will see singles stand on a Juliet-style balcony as they are serenaded by potential suitors, who they'll be able to hear but not see. Each of the singers gets just one song to try and tempt their Juliet down to meet them.

A description for the show from ITV reads: "The seven-part prime time series, due for broadcast on ITV and ITV Hub later this year, gives its singers just one song to entice a singleton down from the balcony. Only then will the two come face-to-face for the first time.

"The newly formed couple will then head off on a duet-date to learn, you’ve guessed it, a duet, before returning later in the show to perform that duet in the ultimate romantic love battle; a singing competition against the other couples to be crowned the winners."

Talking about doing the show, Oti said: "I’m so excited to be part of Romeo & Duet. It’s always been a dream of mine to host so this is a real pinch me moment, and it's a blessing for me to finally be able to share this news. I honestly can’t wait to get started!"

The teaser adverts for Romeo & Duet confirmed it will start in April, but an exact start date has yet to be revealed.
