Dancing On Ice's Matt Evers forced to evacuate hotel after fire breaks out

Matt Evers was forced to evacuate his hotel after a fire broke out.

The Dancing On Ice professional ice skater, 44, took to his Instagram stories on Wednesday night to film after he'd been forced out of the hotel, as sirens blared behind him.

He said: "Hotel evacuated. Might be sleeping in the car tonight. Don't worry, I grabbed my skates."

It is the latest drama Matt has faced after his skating partner Denise Van Outen was forced to quit DOI after dislocating her shoulder.

In his post, Matt filmed the fire engines parked outside the hotel before flipping the camera back to himself looking nervous.

Matt then updated his fans when he was back in his bed, safe and well.

He said: "OK, don't know what happened, front desk didn't tell me anything, but thank you to Greater Manchester Fire Services.

"They were here so fast."

Matt then shared a picture of a hunky fireman, asking for his Instagram followers to identify him.

"I mean, if this building ain't on fire, I am," he joked.

He then posted another photo of himself to reassure his fans, this time of him standing in the street while the hotel was evacuated.

Matt wrote: "Thank you @manchesterfire for a super fast response. Got my skates and my pjs. That's it. #salfordquays."

He later added: "*UPDATE* All ok now... thank you."

His ordeal is the latest drama to hit Dancing On Ice after four celebrities have been forced to pull out due to injury.

Denise was the first after hurting her shoulder, followed by Rufus Hound after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Billie Faiers then left after hurting her head and getting concussion, before Joe Warren-Plant was forced to leave after he too tested positive for Covid-19.
