Dancing on Ice's Lisa George shocks viewers by revealing she used to skate competitively

Dancing on Ice has only been back a matter of hours, but already the new series of the ITV has sparked controverrsy.

Firstly, viewers are calling fix over the fact that skating star with both being members of Britain's Got Talent winning dance group Diversity.

Some viewers argued that Perri's dance experience gave him an unfair advantage but then came a revelation no-one saw coming, when another of the contestants on the Dancing on Ice lineup , Coronation Street actress Lisa George revealed she used to skate competitively.

In her VT prior to her first performance, Lisa said "I was about 7 when I started skating; mum used to take me before school.

"I've done three or four competitions before and then this particular competition, I slid and sliced my chin open.

"I was scared of going back to skate."

And even though Lisa went onto explain it had been 40 years since she'd stepped on the ice, viewers at home were stunned by her revelation.

One reacted "You can tell she has skated before but she did well considering how long ago it was." and another tweeted "She skated before? She's won then."

Even former Dancing on Ice champion Jake Quickenden had his say, writing "Ayyy this is nice skating is beautiful good level... didn’t hear did she say she has skated before."

Others praised Lisa for getting over her anxiety at returning to the ice and the judges were impressed too, giving her a score of 26.5.
