Dancing On Ice's Jason Gardiner quits showbiz for life on farm in Portugal

Jason Gardiner has swapped his showbiz lifestyle to become an eco-friendly farmer in Portugal.

The former Dancing On Ice judge, 46, appears to have had enough of the glitz and glamour and has opted for a new life away from the limelight.

The drastic lifestyle change comes after the outspoken star, who was dubbed ‘Mr Nasty’ on the ITV dance competition, sensationally quit the show in 2019.

Jason has now ditched bustling London for rural Portugal where he has completed a biodiversity and sustainability course.

The former showbiz whiz now describes himself as a ‘Nomadic Permaculture Designer’.

Lifting the lid on his new lifestyle, Jason recently took to his Instagram Story to inform followers that he now spends his days travelling to different homes to teach families how to become more eco-friendly.

Jason’s new-found appreciation for nature came amid lockdown after a chance encounter with his neighbour.

“I was very lucky during the lockdown. A neighbour of mine kindly offered that I get to use her allotment,” he told The Sun.

“We are moving towards being self-sufficient whether we like it or not. Being a grower of food and being sustainable is the future.”

TOWIE star Gemma, 39, accused the controversial judge of being a bully because he compared her to a refrigerator - often making snide remarks about her weight and appearance on the show.

Jason appeared as an original on the panel since the ITV show kicked off in 2006 and remained as a judge until 2011, before he was ditched for the 2012 series.

The star made an epic comeback to the show in 2013 and remained on the panel until he sensationally quit in 2019.

Dancing on Ice returns January 17 on ITV.
