Dancing On Ice's Jason Donovan pulls out of Sunday's show

Jason Donovan has had to pull out of the latest episode of Dancing On Ice.

The singer will not perform during 'Love Week' on Sunday night after suffering back pain and being advised to rest.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed that Jason will be taking a break tonight but plans to return next week once recovered following medical advice.

Jason said: "I've had back pain the past couple of days and I'm under doctor's orders to take it easy and sit this week out.

"I'm resting up, I'll be watching from home and cheering everyone on and I look forward to returning next week."

It is the latest in a now long line of blows for the ITV skating competition, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Earlier this week it was announced that Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant and pro skater Vanessa Bauer, have had to leave the show following a positive Covid test.

They were the fourth couple to withdraw from DOI following the departures of celebrities Denise Van Outen, Rufus Hound and Billie Shepherd.

Phil and Holly joked at the start of last Sunday's show that they were still "hanging on" despite the celeb cast quickly dwindling.

Phil later made a cheeky dig on Holly's 40th birthday when DOI hilariously mocked up a picture of the This Morning duo on the ice performing the frightening head banger move.

Phil had the perfect response, commenting: "If there are any more injuries, we'll have to put into practice when we have been learning."
