Dancing on Ice's Holly Willoughby brands show 'brutal' after major change leaves stars panciking

Holly Willoughby branded Dancing on Ice bosses' actions 'brutal' on Sunday night, as the show axed it's skate off for one week only, meaning whoever finished bottom would be sent straight home without any chance of a reprieve.

In the run up to Musicals Week, it had been widely reported that the traditional end of show skate-off, the Dancing on Ice equivalent of a Strictly dance-off, was being taken out of the equation. And, moments into Sunday's live programme, host Phillip announced that that was the case, meaning that there would be no second chance for any stars to stay in the competition.

Clarifying what it meant for this week's Dancing on Ice result, Phillip said: "And more than ever, they will e hoping to bring the house down as tonight, there are no second chances.

"We'll combine the judges scores with your vote and then the lowest placed couple will go straight out of the competition. For one week only...there's no skate off to save them."

As the audience reacted to the news, Phillip's co-host Holly remarked: "I know, it's brutal."

Holly's sentiments on the axing of the skate-off were echoed by many viewers at home, with many taking to Twitter to make their feelings known. One posted: "No skate off. No point," with another tweeting: "There’s no skate off this week ?!?! Wtf" along with crying emojis.

Many chose the same word as Holly to describe the removal of the skate-off, with one posting: "No skate off, lowest score leaves the competition, this is going to be brutal," and a fourth writing: "It’s brutal there’s no skate off"
