Dancing On Ice's Faye Brookes in tears as she recalls brother's leukaemia battle

Dancing On Ice's Faye Brookes has emotionally recalled her little brother Jack's leukaemia battle when he was just a child.

Each of the semi-finalists took to the ice this evening with a routine dedicated to a loved one, Faye performing hers in honour of Jack.

Jack, who survived his diagnosis, was also seen wishing his big sister good luck on a FaceTime.

"This song is dedicated to my brother, Jack," Faye explained, "He got diagnosed with leukaemia when he was nine, I was 14, and it totally rocked our family.

"I'll just never forget the day that my mum came into my room and sat me down, and I just knew she was preparing me for the worst...that Jack might not make it."

As she teared up, Faye continued: "My whole world had been taken away from me in that split second, and the first thing I thought was, 'why didn't it happen to me?'

"Because I didn't want that for him. I didn't want him to suffer. He was in and out of hospital for nearly 10 years."

As the music picked up and a smile spread across Faye's face, she added: "But I'm lucky to say he did get through it.

"He's still by my side to this day, making me laugh."

The camera then cut to Faye FaceTiming Jack, who told her: "Just give it all you've got. And please don't fall..."

And the routine clearly impressed, as Faye and pro partner Matt Evers earned the second perfect score of the series.

Tonight will also see one of the four semi-finalists eliminated.
