Dancing On Ice’s Faye Brookes gobsmacked as Ben Shephard claims ‘you broke’ Hamish

Faye Brookes looked rather uncomfortable on Friday as Ben Shephard claimed she "broke" her former Dancing On Ice partner Hamish Gaman.

Hamish, 37, was forced to quit this years' series after injuring his hand - and Faye is now skating with professional Matt Evers, and has even made it to the final.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Faye and Matt spoke to Ben and his co-host Kate Garraway about the upcoming show this Sunday.

Asked by Kate if she was surprised at how good she has turned out to be, Faye replied: "I had no idea! But it is amazing at what they’ve done with us.

"Like the training is intense, obviously, and I think it’s just mind over matter. We’ve just made the most out of the adventure that we’ve been given, what an opportunity. This experience has been something I’ll never forget."

Ben then commented: "But Faye, of all the things that have happened, you’ve actually broken a partner! That very rarely happens, the celebs usually break!"

Laughing nervously, Faye appeared lost for words and she stuttered: "I mean…" before Matt butted in: "No, his sock broke him."

Finding her voice, Faye continued: "I mean, that was off ice, I definitely don’t think I had a dab hand in that.

"But to know that the pros are getting injured, you can see how dangerous this sport is and that is just why we’ve had to be so careful at making sure we take care of ourselves and also knowing that our pros are doing the best that they can to take care of themselves."

The conversation then turned to which celebrity will end up winning the 2021 series this Sunday.

Matt commented: "Sonny Jay is the ultimate underdog, he’s not an actor and he obviously wasn’t a skater, so to be able to combine those two into the perfection that he has over the past eight weeks.

"If anybody’s gonna win, I would love Sonny to win, obviously I want Faye to win now too!" he added.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
