Dancing On Ice's Faye Brookes early favourite to win show - overtaking fellow soap star

Faye Brookes is the big early favourite to win Dancing on Ice, according to one top bookmaker.

The show returns on Sunday as the celebs get their skates on – and while it's expected to be an exciting series, there is one leading contender already.

Capital Radio DJ Sonny Jay, actor Jason Donovan and Olympians Graham Bell and Colin Jackson CBE are ready to take to the ice.

Musician and presenter Myleene Klass, actor Joe-Warren Plant and presenter Denise Van Outen are also competing.

But former Coronation Street star Faye, 33, is the 9-4 favourite with bookmaker Coral to win the 2021 series.

Welsh former sprint Colin is second best in the betting at 4-1, while much-loved Denise can be backed at 6-1.

Emmerdale star Joe and Mylene are available at 10-1.

Coral's John Hill explained why Faye is predicted to do big things over the coming weeks.

"Faye Brookes has made it no secret that she has a dance background so we are expecting her to shine on the ice this year where she is the clear favourite to lift the trophy," he said.

"Colin Jackson and Denise van Outen are both also at the top end of the betting.

"However, all eyes will be on the launch show where there are sure to be one or two contestants which catch the eye in the early stages of the series."

Rebekah Vardy is 16-1, with Neighbours icon Jason at 12s to win it.

Rufus Hound is out at 33-1 and the bookies don't fancy Lady Leshurr either, she is the same price to take the glory.

Speaking ahead of the show launch, Faye said: "Everybody knows that I have trained as a dancer but I don’t know if I can dance on ice so this is going to be a real test to me personally.

"Also, I’m not hiding behind a character so I’ll feel quite vulnerable as the general public, for the first time, see me for me and watch me going through that journey."
