Dancing on Ice's Bez speaks out as angry viewers complain about him still being on show

Dancing on Ice contestant Bez has broken his silence to thanks fans as the backlash against him grows, with some angry viewers contacting the show to complain about him still being in the competition.

When the line-up for the new series of the hit ITV show was announced, Bez was the star who sparked the most curiosity, with him having icon status amongst music fans of a certain age and him winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 after being TV gold in the house.

While Bez has been one of the most talked about contestants on Dancing on Ice this year, he has failed to light up the leaderboard so far, with him finishing rock bottom every week so far, despite being very entertaining.

But, despite his low scores, Bez has yet to even end up in the Skate Off, as the likes of Rachel Stevens and Liberty Poole have been axed from the competition.

And, it was Liberty's exit on Sunday that sparked more anger from viewers that Bez, who fell during his performance, was still on the show when much better skaters had left.

Directly tweeting the official Dancing on Ice account, one viewer ranted: "can i say what a joke the show has become. Its meant to be about talent , and clearly bez has no ice skating talent and he's there for entertainment. Rachel Stevens should never of been sent home. Bez should have gone."

In agreement, another fumed: "Bez… absolutely pathetic. It’s become tedious to watch the poorer skaters getting through." and a third posted: "this show must be fixed. How the hell is #Bez still in #sick of shows fixing the results."

With the weekly Dancing on Ice result dependent on the public vote, it's clear there is a lot of support out there for Bez and thanking those behind him, took to Instagram to post a picture of him in action and wrote: "How do everyone, here’s my skate from Sunday’s Dancing on Ice show. A massive thanks to each and every one of you that’s keeping me in each week, you're amazing people."

One fan replied: "Loved the break dancing at the beginning You got up and smashed it. Keep going Bez."

A second told Bez: "Absolutely loved it Bez, every week you come out, you try hard & put a smile on everyone’s face you’ve got my vote," while a third commented: "Champion."
