Dancing On Ice's Ben Foden first to leave ITV show after skate-off against Ria Hebden

Ben Foden has become the first celebrity to leave Dancing On Ice 2022, after the latest episode of the ITV show.

The rugby player and Celebrity X Factor star was voted out by all of the judges, including Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

After 11 skating stars took to the rink over the past two weekends, two stars were left fighting for their place on the show.

It was TV presenter Ria Hebden and her professional skating partner Łukasz Różycki who found themselves in the bottom last week.

This time around, week two saw Ben and his pro partner Robin Johnstone in the bottom and facing Ria in the dreaded skate-off.

Sadly it was Ben who left the show, admitting he was gutted to go so soon.

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, he praised his pro partner after three months of training for the ITV show.

He said: "I really have enjoyed it, this woman is incredible and it's the people who make this experience."

Phil said the standard was so high this year suggesting Ben might have been at a disadvantage.

He replied: "I know, I thought there’d obviously be someone who couldn’t skate, and it turns out it is me! Literally everyone was so good."

Ben added he was excited to see how everyone else got on as the weeks go on.

As for Ria, the pair had received a decent score of 24.5 after taking to the ice for the first time last week - but it wasn't enough.

Luckily, the judges have given her a well deserved second chance, as she prepares for Movie Week on the show.

When asked by Phillip how she felt last weekend, Ria replied: "I'm really gutted because we absolutely worked so hard on this skate and I enjoyed every second skating with Łukasz."

Łukasz was already excited about the next show and said: "Oh we have a fabulous routine so I'm looking forward actually."

Ria later admitted she was “gutted” about finding herself in the bottom two, as she appeared on Lorraine.

Ria said: "I'm feeling motivated. Last week I was gutted after working so hard. That fire in my belly has been royally lit. I'm so proud that I came third overall in the judge's scores."

Fans of the TV presenter were quick to heap praise on her performance with many saying she didn't deserve to be in the skate-off.

One tweeted: "Good luck I’ll be voting for you. You were brilliant last week and definitely did NOT deserve to be in the skate off."

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
