Dancing On Ice's Ashley Banjo wants Gemma Collins to make spectacular return to ice

Gemma Collins could make a spectacular return to Dancing On Ice - that's if Ashley Banjo has his way.

The Diversity dancer would love to see the GC make a return to the ITV skating show, after an eventful ride during her first series, where she provided some of the biggest moments of the series.

In 2019, Gemma famously got in a war of words with judge Jason Gardiner and she also had the most spectacular - and painful - fall on the ice during a live show that anyone had ever seen.

But judge Ashley would love to see Gemma make her return to the show one day.

Ashley Banjo is back to judge this year alongside Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and new judge Oti Mabuse (ITV)

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, asked who he wanted to be on the show, he said: "I was going to go all out there and say the return of Gemma Collins! Why not? She was actually so entertaining!"

It comes after host Phillip Schofield confessed he loved seeing stars take a tumble on the ice.

Gemma thought she died when she fell on the ice (ITV)

"We love a trip," he said earlier this week, "but you never want to see blood on the ice as it's a nightmare to get out".

It seems like Happy Mondays star Bez is the one most likely to take a tumble on Sunday night when the show returns to screens, and he was involved in a particularly bad fall recently where his helmet flew off as his head hit the ice.

Bez is at risk of injuring himself this time around (ITV)

"You have a rink that is full of essentially blades and we know how dangerous they can be and how deeply they can cut and how sharp they are. I’ve just watched a video of Bez on his second day fall over backwards so hard that his helmet flew off," Phil said.

"Dancing On Ice is really dangerous. They really all risk everything for it. We’ve seen in the past that people do get hurt and of course you want to avoid that at all cost. I think we will be wrapping Bez up in bubble wrap that’s for sure."

*The new series of Dancing On Ice starts at 6.30pm on Sunday 16th December on ITV.
