Dancing on Ice's Alex Demetriou reportedly has plans to make his move on Maura Higgins.
It comes just hours after the professional skater confessed his marriage to Carlotta Edwards had collapsed amid rumours he was romancing his DOI partner Maura.
His close friends have spilled Alex has hopes of a serious romance with Maura, despite their relationship being strictly platonic on Dancing On Ice.
It's also claimed the besotted dancer finds the Irish bombshell "very attractive" and he's keen to spend more time with her.
Sources told The Sun : “Alexander is very taken with Maura. Those around her insist it’s just friendship but like most men, they go weak around Maura.
“Her confidence attracts men. It’s not her fault he finds her attractive and wants to spend time with her. It’s totally natural.
“But for Carlotta this has been really tough and it seems it’s going to get tougher before it gets easier.”
The Mirror has reached out to Maura Higgins' representative for further comment.
Alex confirmed he had split from his wife Carlotta on social media on Monday.
The couple had been married for four years and happily it seemed.
However, their marriage hit the rocks when rumours of a flirtation between Alex and his partner Maura hit headlines.
Alex spoke to his fans: "I'm sorry I have been quiet on social media recently but it's been a tough time for me personally.
"Carlotta and I have separated. Although it saddens me that we can no longer be together, I feel this is best for both of us.
"I'm looking forward to what the future will bring but in the meantime let's all say home and stay safe. Alex xx."
Maura has been single since she split up from Curtis Pritchard.
