Dancing On Ice pro Carlotta Edwards seems to be finding it difficult to come to terms with her recent marriage split from Alex Demetriou.
The 30-year-old skater is reportedly finding rumours that her husband wants to "date" Love Island babe Maura Higgins "really tough".
The pair's marriage was tested in recent months after Alex, 28, and Maura, 29, were paired together on the hit ITV show, which is said to have brought them closer together.
But it seems to be taking a toll on his wife after learning Alex "has his eyes set on the former grid girl".
Carlotta is said to believe things are "going to get tougher" before her heartbreak gets easier, according to The Sun.
Alex's pals believe his close relationship with Maura was the reason behind his sudden marriage breakdown to Carlotta.
"Alexander is very taken with Maura. Those around her insist it's just friendship but like most men, they go weak around Maura."
They added: "But for Carlotta this has been really tough and it seems it's going to get tougher before it gets easier."
Since the brutal rumours, Carlotta has been putting on a brave face while she and Alex put on a united front in public.
She's reportedly been begging Alex to give their four-year marriage a chance, and is trying everything she can to save their relationship.
However it seems the Canadian skater is certain that her husband is pining for Maura.
A source close to her said: "Carlotta was desperate to work it out with Alexander but knows he's had his head turned by Maura.
"They've not spoken for a long time but Alexander's friendship with Maura made him realise his marriage to Carlotta was not what he wanted.
"Her family and their friends thought they could work through it but Alexander was adamant he wanted out. There was nothing else Carlotta could do but watch him leave."
Carlotta flew back home last month to spend time with family and to reflect on their marriage breakdown.
Meanwhile her husband, who removed his wedding ring in February, stayed in the UK.
