Dancing on Ice Maura Higgins cries as she's eliminated from show

There was upset on Dancing on Ice tonight as Maura Higgins was eliminated from the show.

The Love Island star and her partner Alexander Demetriou ended up in the bottom two with Libby Clegg and her partner Mark Hanretty after a public vote.

The couples then took part in a skate-off, which saw Libby perform to Demi Lovato's Skyscraper and Maura skate to Stay by Rihanna.

Judges Ashley Banjo and John Barrowman, both felt Maura's performance was more emotional and voted her to stay-in.

However, Jayne Torvill put a spanner in the works when she saved Libby, leaving head-judge Christopher Dean to decide who would be eliminated.

Ultimately, he chose Libby and Mark - meaning Maura and Alexander were eliminated from the show.

Visibly upset, Maura couldn't hold her tears as she thanked her skating partner and told Holly and Phil how much she had enjoyed the show.

Fans were also upset by the decision, taking to Twitter to discuss.
