Dancing On Ice John Fashanu eliminated after skate-off with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

Dancing On Ice contestant John Fashanu was the first to leave the competition after the dreaded skate-off against Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

Celebrities including Carley Stenson, Darren Harriott and The Vivienne made their debut as they hoped to impress the judges and public in order to avoid the dreaded skate-off. The celebs looking to take home the crown at the end of the series must impress the returning judging panel - Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo.

After receiving the fewest votes from the public last weekend, it was confirmed Love Island winner Ekin-Su would be in the skate-off. On Sunday nights episode, Ekin-Su and partner Brendyn Hatfield competed to save her place in the competition against John and partner Alexandra Lukasz as the judges chose to save the reality star.

As the result came in, hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby bid farewell to the first casualty of the rink ahead of week three. The ex-footballer joked to the This Morning hosts that he might start teaching people how to skate.

This comes after the reality star made her debut on the show last week and her performance sparked over 112 Ofcom complaints for being “inappropriate” to show before the watershed.

Fans took aim at the star’s saucy routine and outfit choice, however the judges themselves were more than happy with her skating itself as she scored a total vote of 21.5 points from the judges.

Ekin-Su appeared noticeably gobsmacked at the result, which put her at risk of going home in the first week, and quickly turned to talk with her dance partner Brendyn.

Viewers took to social media to discuss the results of the show.

Next week the remaining contestants will take part in Musicals Week on the ITV competition show.

Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
