Dancing on Ice: Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield unsure if show will go ahead this weekend

Dancing on Ice hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby say they're not sure if the show will go ahead as planned this weekend.

The series was forced to take a break last Sunday after another celebrity quit due to injury.

It was due to return this week - but speaking about it on ITV's This Morning, the presenting team didn't seem confident, the Mirror reports.

Signing off from the popular daytime show, Phillip turned to Holly to ask: "Are we on this week?"

The mum-of-three replied: "I think we might be" - leading Phillip to add: "At the moment..."

The current series has seen several celebrities hit by injuries and illness - or a positive test for coronavirus.

Jason Donovan was the latest to quit after struggling with a back injury, leaving only five couples in the competition.

Earlier in the series Denise Van Outen had to pull out after partially dislocating her shoulder, leaving her in excruciating pain as she skated with partner Matt Evers.

Billie Faiers and Rufus Hound have also left the show.

In true showbusiness style, the show must go on - and ITV says it will return this weekend.

But with five celebrities left in the competition and six weeks to go, a final with three stars is impossible at the moment.

This means that bosses may have to make big adjustments to the series in order for it to run in full - or shorten it.
