Dancing on Ice hit by Ofcom complaints as viewers rage at judges scoring in final

Dancing on Ice viewers have complained to Ofcom after being angered by Sunday's final.

In a shock outcome, former EastEnders actor Joe Swash beat favourite Perri Kiely in the public vote, with Dancing on Ice voting figures revealing that the result was the closest in the history of the ITV show.

The result was slammed by many viewers but it's not just the outcome that has left Dancing on Ice fans fuming, it is the way judges Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman and Torvill & Dean marked Joe, Perri and third placed contestant Libby Clegg in the final.

And, while a glance at Ofcom's website reveals that to date only 11 people have lodged a complaint with the broadcasting regulator, plenty of others have lashed out on social media.

One took to Twitter to rant: "Why o why o why do they even bother with the scores at all? I mean, the votes in the Strictly finals are usually risible, but this is next level of ridiculous..." and, echoing those sentiments another vented: "This all scoring ten thing is pointless! @bbcstrictly scores properly in the final and gives you a guide if you are not sure too."

Another reacted: "Joe is the only one tonight that has deserved perfect scores. I thought with this being the final the judges would be fair. Thank heaven it’s the down to the public vote tonight!" and a fourth called fix, tweeting: "Fix, fix fix........ How is Libby getting the same scores as Joe and Perri?"

Dancing on Ice hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby too seen bemused by the scoring. Looking at the leaderboard, Phil joked: "How do I make my way through this?" and Holly added: "I like this. Shall we just call it here? Call it a triple-way draw."
