Dancing on Ice final prompts anger from viewers over 'ridiculous' scores from judges

Before the Dancing on Ice 2021 winner had even been announced, angry viewers were flooding Twitter to hit out at 'ridiculous' scoring from the judges.

This year's show has been far from smooth sailing for all involved, with drop outs due to injuries and coronavirus test results, as well as a global pandemic and a third national lockdown to contend with.

After an eventful two months, just Faye Brookes, Sonny Jay and Colin Jackson were left standing to battle it out for this year' crown, with victory eventual going to Capital radio host Sonny and his pro partner Angela Egan.

In a closely contested first round, there was little to choose between the final three with Faye on 38/40, Sonny on 39.5 and Colin getting the full 40.

And it was Colin's perfect score from the Dancing on Ice judges that generated the biggest response from unhappy fans.

One tweeted: "Well the judges' scoring is still ridiculous," and another wrote: "If that was in week 6 IT WOULD OF GOT NOTHING HIGHER THAN A 7 wtf"

A third posted: "F*** right off with your 10’s!! What a load of b****cks!"

Faye getting 40 for her second skate - a reprise of Black Swan from week 2 - remedied some fans' fury, with one commenting: "Wow! That black Swan dance was something else!! Dramatically beautiful!" and another writing: "Now that did deserve all 10's... Well done Fay & Matt."

However, others argued that, just like Colin, her 40 wasn't deserved either, with another viewer ranting: "Very good from Faye there but nowhere near a 10 based on previous series," and, in agreement, another tweeting: "too many 10’s for me."

Just like Faye, Sonny too got 40 for his second performance - a repeat of his Popeye skate to smash hit Wellerman, as did Colin for his Bodyguard themed routine, putting him on a perfect overall score of 80 out of a possible 80.

However, the viewer votes didn't mirror the judges' scores as Colin ended up bowing out in third before Faye and Sonny skated to Bolero and he was announced as winner by hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
