Dancing on Ice final brought forward as series cut short due to injury crisis

Dancing on Ice bosses have cut the new short series short after a line-up crisis due to injuries to both contestants and pro skaters and positive Covid tests.

Only four celebs should have left the show so far in the weekly eliminations but the reality is that NINE have now gone - four after being voted out, three through injury and another two due to positive Covid tests.

As well as the celebrities, two pro skaters have also withdrawn after being injured. Graham Bell's intended partner Yebin Mok didn't even make live shows after a horrific training injury while Faye Brooke's pro H amish Gaman quit last week after an injury caused by a sock.

Dancing on Ice suffered another blow earlier this week when, after resting for a week, Jason Donovan quit due to a back injury, leaving just five couples left in the competition.

And ITV have now released a statement revealing that the final has been brought forward by a week.

A spokesperson said: "ITV have taken the decision to move the final of Dancing on Ice forward by one week.

"The competition’s final will now take place on Sunday 14th March.

"Our production team and cast have delivered a fantastic show during incredibly challenging times.

"Continuing to make the best TV for our viewers is our top priority and we look forward to the rest of the series, on air from this Sunday at 6pm.”

After Hamish's exit, Faye is now partnered with Matt Evers, who was originally paired with Denise Van Outen, while the other celebs left are Sonny Jay, Rebekah Vardy, Lady Leshurr and Colin Jackson.
