Dancing On Ice fans point out 'lacklustre' problem with this year's final

Dancing On Ice came to an end on Sunday night - a week earlier than originally planned.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield dazzled as they hosted the ITV skating competition's grand finale following a rollercoaster of a series.

The DOI final was brought forward by ITV after the series was plagued by injuries and positive Covid results.

In the end though it was Sonny Jay who was crowned champion with professional partner Angela Egan after pipping former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes to the title.

However, some fans of the show took to social media to complain after they felt their was a lacklustre' problem with this year's final.

"Non of these feel like Final routines. Maybe week 3 or 4 but not finals. #dancingonice," tweeted one.

Another complained: "Are we watching the final of #DancingOnIce. Is it me or has it been a slow start. Bring back Ray Quinn and speed."

"These ARE the most lacklustre routines I have ever seen in a final. #DancingOnIce," a third added.

A fourth said: "1 year ago @perrikiely was doing backflips on ice, and these lot are faffing about with eggs and frying pans! Wtf is going on. #DancingOnIce."

"For the final the choreography for these routines have not been up to scratch, I’m actually bored watching #DancingOnIce," another said.

Earlier in the final former athlete Colin Jackson was voted out of the competition by the public, despite earning a perfect score of 40 for both of his performances.

While Sonny and Faye earned only one full set of 10s from the judges during Sunday's show.

The final also saw previous contestants from the series including Rebekah Vardy, Jason Donovan, Joe-Warren Plant and Rufsu Hound all return and took to the ice for a final time for a group routine.
