Dancing On Ice fans divided on Jason Donovan's performance amid judges' 'harsh' scores

Dancing On Ice viewers were left divided after Jason Donovan's performance landed the star in the bottom ranking spot among the skaters this week.

For musicals week, the 52-year-old actor and his professional skate partner Alexandra Shauman paid homage to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Tonight, the duo performed an epic skate to the song, Don’t Leave Me This Way.

However, the performance failed to dazzle the judging panel - made up of Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Ashley Banjo and John Barrowman - and they ended up with a measly 22 points.

By the end of the performances, Jason and Alexandra had found themselves in the bottom spot for the night.

While the performance might not have been a hit with the judges, the feedback left viewers dividied.

Many Dancing On Ice fans have since suggested that this evening's criticisms might have been "too harsh".

Jason, who has also starred in the musical Priscilla in the past, received praise for his glittering performance on the ice.

"FABULOUS, JASON!! With a bad start but I love it!!! He embraced it #DOI," wrote one fan.

"LOVE this! Love the song. Love drag. Fun skate. Jason & Alexandra score a low 22. Stupid score. #dancingonic " added another.

A third added: " #dancingonice Jason- enjoyed it tbh. Did see a stumble but I thought the judges were a tad on the harsh side. 6.5."

Others pointed out that there were some blunders in the performance.

"I didn't think it great, but are the judges harsh this week?" another wrote.

Luckily, Jason received enough viewer votes to get through to the next round of the competition.

Elsewhere in the show, Jason was also 'scolded' by Phillip Schofield after the performer opted not to wear his famous Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat costume.

It appears that the duo made a 'pact' to wear their dreancoat costumes together, and Phil started presenting the show in his striking elaborate outfit.

However, when Jaso stepped out his look was completely different to his famous coat and Phil had something to say about it.

Phil then jokingly called him out on air, asking what he was playing at and accused him of making him look like a fool.

"Phil, forget the coat mate I thought you were gonna turn up in a loincloth," Jason quipped.
